In Secret

In our modem world, we are increasingly living in concrete and air-conditioned rooms. We offer less and less space to nature and have often forgotten how to perceive nature consciously. Focussed on the "coronation of creation," the human being, we let ourselves be blinded by loud and strikingly provocative things.

If we opened our eyes and directed our perception to the more inconspicuous, small scale processes of nature, we could re-discover our own history - our own essence. I have focused my attention on the charming peculiarities of the common plants. The dualism of the useful and the repulsive, which is hidden in nature, is also dormant in each of us. We are compelled to protect ourselves with armour like a thistle. The dichotomy between attraction and ruin, terror and beauty, is part of our everyday life.

Everything remains fragile.

The idyll is a beautiful glow behind translucent glass. But sometimes the fog and the obscuration create new interest and make us look more attentively, help us seeing and feeling what's behind the curtain.
